Requirements include:
 
We are now seeking a Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer – to join our growing Mission Critical team in Japan. The role of the Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer n CAI is to:
 
·        Be responsible for supporting the commissioning process of data centre facilities (and other mission critical facilities) to ensure that all systems, components, and equipment operate efficiently and meet design specifications.
·        Conduct functional performance tests on electrical systems, and other critical systems as per the project requirements. These systems include (but are not limited to) strong working knowledge of single-line diagrams, EHV/HV/LV transformers, switchgears, VCB, generators, UPS/DRUPS, RMU, ATS/STS, PDU, FWT/FAT, onsite cabling/panels installation works, etc.
·        Verify that equipment and systems meet design specifications and regulatory standards.
·        Perform a project risk assessment and take appropriate control measures before starting any major testing & Commissioning.
·        Have a strong safety-first awareness is key to ensure safety for all in the team.
·        Develop and maintain high professional relationships with contractors, vendors, and field personnel which would greatly help in additional business for the company.
·        Be an excellent communicator and possess strong writing skills.
·        Have attention to detail, and high-quality standards.
·        Possess good working understanding of both mechanical and/or electrical equipment/design related to data centres.
·        Understand EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware).
·        Understand HVAC, Fire Protection, Security Systems, etc in data centres is advantageous.
·        Possess relevant licenses or qualifications (chief electrician license, electrical constructions management, ASHRAE BCxP, DCCA, DCDC, CDCMP, DCIS, Uptime Institute’s Accredited Tier Specialist, etc is advantageous.
 
Position Requirements:
 
·        A bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the Data Centre industry. Relevant experience can substitute for education.
·        Relevant experience in commissioning critical systems, preferably in data centre environment is advantageous.
·        Strong understanding of electrical systems in data centres. Having knowledge and experience of mechanical systems is advantageous.
·        Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
·        Familiarity with testing equipment and protocols.
·        Effective communication and collaboration skills.
·        Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
·        Strong experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
·        Working experience with construction/commissioning systems such as CxAlloy, Procore, Aconex, MS Compass, etc. is advantageous.
·        Ability to travel domestically and abroad on a regular basis.
·        A valid drivers’ license is desired but not a must.
·        Good oral and written English is required
·        To currently have the legal permission to live and work in Japan.
