Job Overview:
The Commissioning Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities across mission-critical data centre projects. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems are properly installed, tested, and validated to meet the stringent performance and uptime requirements of data centre operations. The Cx PM serves as the key interface between engineering, construction, and client operations teams to ensure delivery of fully operational and reliable infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage end-to-end commissioning process for data centre infrastructure, including electrical (UPS, switchgear, generators), mechanical (HVAC, CRAC units, chillers), BMS, and fire/life safety systems.
· Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, and protocols in alignment with industry best practices (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, etc.).
· Oversee and coordinate third-party commissioning agents, vendors, and OEMs to ensure system readiness and performance verification.
· Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
· Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and ensure commissioning readiness from early project phases.
· Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including commissioning logs, test reports, issue tracking, and punch lists.
· Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with client specifications, codes, and safety standards.
· Provide clear communication to stakeholders on commissioning progress, issues, and milestones.
· Support handover and transition to client facilities management or operations teams, including training and final documentation.
Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 8+ years’ managing commissioning projects in data centres or other mission-critical environments.
· Relevant experience in commissioning critical systems, preferably in data center environments, is advantageous.
· Strong understanding of electrical systems in data centers.
· Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Strong experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Ability to travel domestically and abroad regularly.
